Private New Orleans Driving Tour

We will explore what New Orleans has to offer in the comfort of a 7 passenger full-size SUV. The tour will start at your hotel and from there we will drive to the French Quarter, observe the unique European architecture and talk about New Orleans’ early days.
From the French Quarter, we will continue into the Marigny, Bywater and into neighborhoods that were rehabilitated following Hurricane Katrina. Then we will visit America’s oldest black neighborhood - the Treme - and Congo Square and discuss slavery and the birth of Jazz.
We will go up Esplanade Ave, the route of an old Indian portage, see the beautiful homes, and visit St. Louis Cemetery No. 3.
During our break we will visit City Park, see 800 year old live oak trees, and get refreshments at Cafe Du Monde.
From City Park we will continue along the route of Bayou St. John and follow it to Lake Pontchartrain, which features the Causeway - longest road in the world above a natural body of water. We will travel along the remnants of an old inner-city canal, and tell the tale of the Irish workers who built, and a secret nuclear war command center.
Then we will go by the famous Metairie Cemetery and into the Uptown areas - Carrollton and the oldest streetcar in the world, St. Charles Ave with Tulane and Loyola Universities and Audubon Park, and will see beautiful mansions.
We will also visit the Garden District and see the beautiful antebellum homes.
Finally, we will continue into the first neighborhood outside of the French Quarter - today’s Central Business District, and then continue to your hotel or other location within the city.
